Dover, NH-Connie Nancy (Bridges) Hutchins passed away on Saturday, August 3, 2024, with family by her side.
Born on September 7, 1947, in York, Maine, she was the daughter of Paul and Frances (McLean) Bridges.
Connie was a member of the First Parish Church in Dover, NH.
She worked as a receptionist for the University Of New Hampshire Health Services Department where she was known by the students as the "Soup Lady." They could always count on her to make homemade chicken soup for them.
Connie was a woman of many talents and even more passions. She was a former president of the Dover Children's Home, a member of the Dover Recreation Advisory Board, a member of the Rochester Country Club, a member of the Booster Club that was in charge of concession stands for Dover Little Green Football, as well as a former Brownie and Girl Scout troop leader.
Her biggest passion was her family. Connie married her lifetime sweetheart, Richard Hutchins, Jr., and had a wonderful marriage for over 59 years. They raised their children in the seacoast area and Connie was a doting and loving mother.
She was always the family cheerleader. She attended all of her children's and grandchildren's sporting events and activities. The best times were had at the family camp on Square Pond. Each day spent at the camp was full of laughter, memories, and unforgettable meals cooked by Connie that were enjoyed by all.
Connie really enjoyed gardening. She was also a very gifted seamstress and knitter. She was a phenomenal baker and was known for her delicious peanut butter cookies.
She was an incredible person, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend and will be missed by all who knew her.
Connie is predeceased by her parents, Paul and Frances Bridges, as well as her brother, Wayne Bridges.
She is survived by her sweetheart, Richard Hutchins, Jr., her children, Jill Murphy and husband John, and Scott Hutchins, her brother, Paul Bridges and his wife Annie of PA, her grandchildren, Courtney Murphy and her husband, Ethan Dale, Kate Murphy, Sean Murphy, and Heather Hutchins, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Connie's name to the Dover Children's Home, at https://doverchildrenshome.org/donate-options/

I worked with Connie at UNH in the '90s.... She was always a light and all the students and staff loved her different soups! She will be missed by all! Healing energy being sent to the family.
