Connie Lou Smith, age 72, of Chillicothe, passed away on Wednesday, July 17, 2024 at her home.
Connie was born on June 9, 1952 in Sparland, IL to Marvin and Bertha (Heneger) Smith. She married John Wiedeman on May 26, 1973 in Chillicothe and together they had three children.
Surviving are her four children, Amber Wiedeman of Chillicothe, IL, April (Mark) Scheffert of Pueblo West, CO, Nathan Wiedeman of Chillicothe, and Reece Smith of Avon, CO; two grandchildren, Nolan (Kaitlin) Wiedeman and Arieyll Boling; and two brothers, Bob Smith of Canton, IL and Jim (Shirley) Smith of Bradford, IL. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews whom she was close to as well as many friends.
Connie graduated from Chillicothe High School in 1971. Over the years, she had worked at Walmart at a cashier and she worked in the bakery at Kroger. Connie enjoyed baking and was especially known for her wedding cakes, and enjoyed sewing, woodworking and crafting. Connie loved her fur babies, Lily and Louis.
Cremation rites will be accorded and a Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, July 22, 2024 from 5pm to 8pm at the Shore Acres Pavilion. Arrangements are under the care of Weber-Hurd Funeral Home in Chillicothe.
