Connie Dewayne Snyder, better known as "Tennessee", age 87, passed away peacefully at his home. He was born in LaFollette, Tennessee, to the late William and Luola (nee Riggs) Snyder.

Wayne was the devoted husband of Joann (nee Eubanks) Snyder for 64 years; loving father of Dorma (Steve) Melchers, Lorna (Jim) Miles, and Carla (Joe) Thomas; and proud grandfather to Jesse Snyder, Josh (Margot) Hisle, Melissa (Bryan) White, Rob (Christen) Melchers, Amanda Miles, Melody Thomas, and Andrew Thomas. He was also blessed with five great-grandchildren-Holland Hisle, Bailey White, Bryson White, Tilly Hisle, and Thomas Melchers-who brought him endless joy.

One of twelve siblings, Wayne had numerous nieces and nephews and made friends everywhere he went. He grew up with a strong sense of family and perseverance. After serving his country in the United States Navy, he dedicated 33 years of his career to General Motors and later worked for 20 years at Deaconess Hospital.

In his free time, Wayne enjoyed playing bass guitar, reading, and telling jokes. He especially loved John Wayne and would impersonate him every chance he got. He cherished time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren. Wayne was a devoted member of Roosevelt Church of God for many years.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, August 27, 2025 at 10:30 A.M. at Crown Hill Memorial Park & Mausoleum, with Pastor Robert Farley officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association in Wayne's memory.
