Conrad Julius Werra
Of Wauwatosa, WI, passed away peacefully November 24, 2025, with his family at his side. Conrad was born in Waukesha, WI, April 17, 1935, to Julius and Harriet Werra (nee Kroner). He was a long-time member of Christ King Parish, serving many years as an usher. He was one of the first classes to graduate from the parish school. Conrad was a graduate of Marquette University High School and attended Marquette University.
Conrad was proud to serve in the U.S. Army. "Connie" was a good man and faithful husband of the late Gretchen (nee Huhner), loving father of Karin (Rich) Vetrano and J.Conrad "Jay" (Betsy) Werra. A very proud grandpa of Evan (Lain) and Julia Vetrano. He was a quiet man of integrity and honesty. His happy times were spent behind the wheel traveling with his family or going for a win with friends with a deck of cards and a cribbage board. His career was in real estate, beginning in 1964 with Robedeaux, bought by Merrill Lynch, then to Prudential and finally to First Weber. Conrad said, "my resume looks like hell, but the phone number stayed the same." His final years in real estate were spent as a closing agent for Priority Title. He retired in 2016.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Gretchen, his two brothers, John and Jude, and his two sisters, Lucille Foster and Harriet Fridl. Survivors, besides immediate family members, include sisters-in-law Yvonne Werra, Nora Werra, brothers-in-law, Russ Foster and Jim Fridl. He will be missed by his nephews,
nieces, extended family and many friends, and those he worked with and served.
Special thanks to Lauretta Hren and Cheri Benz who cared for him with loving kindnessover the last few years, as well as the kind caregivers at St. Camillus. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 5, 2025 at Christ King Church, 2604 N. Swan Blvd., Wauwatosa, WI from 9:00 am – 10:00 am followed by the Mass of Christian Burial. at 10:00 AM. Committal will be private at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Waukesha, WI.
