Constance Koutris Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Omps Funeral Home and Cremation Center - Amherst Chapel on Dec. 4, 2025.
Constance Sempeles Koutris passed away peacefully after a 6-year battle with Cancer, on December 4th at the age of 68 in Herndon, Virginia. She was at home and surrounded by her loved ones. Dee was a beloved mother, dedicated wife, and devoted friend to many.

Dee was born on November 5th, 1957, in Winchester Virginia to James and Helen Sempeles. Dee was the oldest of 3 kids, with her brother George and sister Roxanne. She attended Handley Highschool where she won the Star Leadership award in 1976. Dee was also Apple Blossom Princess.

After high school Dee attended the University of Richmond and graduated 1980 with a bachelor's degree in political science. Upon graduating she started her career in the hospitality industry in hotel sales and then later moved into event planning where she worked for 15 years.

She met her husband James Koutris in 1980 after her graduation from school and the two quickly fell in love. They were married in May of 1982.

Jim and Dee had their son Nicholas in October of 1991. She was an amazing mother who dedicated her life to providing an incredible childhood to her son and a warm home to friends and family.

She worked with the Ronald McDonald House charity and was a team mom for the Oakton Highschool football and basketball team. She dedicated her time and effort to after school activities and supporting the teams. She never missed a game in her sons' football career.

Dee is survived by her loving husband James Koutris. Son and daughter in-law Nick & Kelli Koutris. Brother and sister in-law George and Lisa Sempeles & sister and brother in-law Roxanne and David Roland.
