Constance Nogas Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Maiorano Funeral Home - Waterbury on Jul. 23, 2024.
Constance Marie Nogas, lovingly known as Connie, passed away on July 15, 2024, at the age of 74. She was born on May 5, 1950, in Waterbury, CT, to the late Peter and Bridget (Bianca) Agati. Connie was the beloved wife of 42 years to Gregory Nogas.
A proud graduate of Crosby High School in Waterbury, CT, class of 1968, Connie pursued her passion for nursing, earning her LPN degree from AI Prince in 1971. Connie and Gregory married in 1982 and built their home in Wolcott, CT, where she resided until her passing.
Connie dedicated over 50 years of her life to nursing, with a special focus on caring for oncology patients at St. Mary's Hospital. She later extended her compassionate care to facilities such as Hartford Healthcare's Mulberry Gardens and Griffin Hospital as a vaccinator during the pandemic. Nursing was more than a profession for Connie; it was her calling. She was a tireless advocate for her patients, treating each one with the same tenderness and care she showed her own family.
Beyond her professional achievements, Connie was known for her kind and caring heart. She loved family vacations at Wildwood, NJ beach, tending to her flower gardens, cooking, and baking for her loved ones. Connie treasured spending time with her grandchildren, family, and friends, and took great joy in caring for her husband. She enjoyed the theater and delighted in watching her granddaughter Ava perform in dance recitals. Connie's love for holidays and the traditions she upheld made every celebration special.
In addition to her beloved husband, Gregory, she was the devoted mother of Melissa Blum and her husband, Brian Blum, of Oakville, CT, and Alexandria Silva and her husband, Alexander Silva, of Southington, CT. She cherished her grandchildren, Ava Blum, Ethan Blum, and Julia Silva. Connie also leaves behind her siblings, Salvatore Agati, Vincent Agati, and Linda Frappier as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Connie will always be remembered for her compassion, humor, and attention to detail that made others feel loved. Her legacy of love and care will continue through the many lives she touched. In her honor, donations can be made to the St. Jude's Foundation.
Connie's family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff at Cody-White Funeral Home in Milford for their care and kindness while assisting her family during this difficult time.
Connie's services will be held at Maiorano Funeral Home, 95 Willow Street, in Waterbury on Friday, July 26, from 5-7pm with a service beginning at 6:30pm. For more information, to sign the online guestbook, or to leave online condolences visit www.maioranofuneralhome.com.
