Cooper Bradly Dorge, 12, of Westphalia, passed away Monday, June 24, 2024, at the family farm.

He was born August 23, 2011, in Jefferson City, the son of Jacob Michael and Amanda Lynn (Scheulen) Dorge.

Cooper was currently attending St. Joseph Catholic School in Westphalia where he was entering the 7th grade. He enjoyed playing baseball, PAL football, and competing in archery. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church where he enjoyed being an acolyte server.

Cooper’s love for the water was evident in every splash - whether swimming, boating, skiing, or bow fishing. The laughter that echoed as he drove around on the golf cart will forever linger in our hearts. In moments of leisure, Cooper found enjoyment with video games on his X-Box, where his imagination knew no bounds. A young man of remarkable diligence and a laid-back demeanor, he embraced each day with a spirited determination.

Survivors include his parents, Jacob and Amanda Dorge, Westphalia; two siblings, Wyatt Dorge and Vayda Dorge; maternal grandparents, Melvin and Beverly Scheulen, St. Elizabeth; paternal grandparents, James and Vicki Dorge, Folk; maternal great-grandfather, Walter Schwartz, Argyle; paternal great-grandparents, George and Rose Dorge, Taos; aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends that were like family.

He was preceded in death by his maternal great-grandmother, Teresa Schwartz; maternal great-grandparents, George and Elizabeth Scheulen; paternal great-grandparents, James and Kay Verslues; and cousin, Bradley Verslues (who Cooper was named after).

Visitation will be 2-5 p.m. Sunday, June 30, 2024, at Trimble Funeral Homes – Westphalia.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Westphalia with the Rev. Dylan Schrader and the Rev. Msgr. Robert A. Kurwicki, VG concelebrating.

Burial will in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the MU Women’s and Children’s Hospital in Columbia.
