Corbit Webb Obituary

It is with deep sadness and much love that we mourn the passing of Corbit (Buddy) K. Webb, Jr. on Friday, August 8, 2025, at the age of 72 years.

Bud grew up in New Castle, Delaware, and was well known for his great abilities as a baseball player. He played for New Castle Little League and William Penn High School. He continued to play semi-pro and then softball in the area for many years to come.

He retired from the US Postal Service, where he worked for many years as a letter carrier, and then chose to move to an indoor job in the maintenance department.

Bud was a long-time member of St. Gabe's Lodge in New Castle, where he loved having a good time listening to music, socializing with friends, and playing bocce. Buddy will be remembered by his friends and family for his great love of Corvettes. We have many fond memories of him cruising up and down the state in one of his many Vettes.

He was predeceased by his father, Corbit K. Webb, Sr.; his sister, Patricia McCormick; and his brother, David Webb.

He is survived by his children, J. Nicole Webb (Alec Anderson), and Corbit K. Webb III; his sweet granddaughter Everly J. Anderson; his partner Dorothy M. Walters; his mother Constance J. Webb; his sister Kathy Dixon, and his nephews James Maichle and Michael McCormick. Buddy will also be dearly missed by his many, many friends and extended family.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 23rd at Daniels & Hutchison Funeral Home, 212 N. Broad St., Middletown, DE. Visitation will be from 11 am to 12 pm, and the service will begin at noon. Interment will be private.
