He was born November 29, 1976 in Quincy, Illinois the son of Roseanna (Rosie) Mayfield and Jimmy Malone.
Survivors include one son Kierse Garner of Monroe City, three Daughters Courtney Mayfield, Hannibal, Missouri, CaMari Mayfield, Louisiana, Missouri and Ivalee Mayfield, Louisiana, Missouri. One brother Chance Mayfield and one sister Megan Mayfield both of Monroe City, Missouri. Two grandchildren Treyon Dorsey and Ameila Mims. He is also survived by numerous aunts, nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
Corey attended Monroe City High School, Monroe City, Missouri. He was employed by Longhorn Steak House, Columbia, Missouri. Corey was a big sports fan, his favorite team was the Kansas City Chiefs. He boxed some and would always say that he couldn't get into trouble because his hands were licensed and he couldn't get into trouble because he would go to jail. We always laughed at his remarks and gave him comments. Corey was a CNA for years. He enjoyed working with the residents. He was known as one of the best caregivers by many families. He enjoyed cooking and didn't need a recipe, he would makeup his own. Corey had a special love with his children and grandchildren. He always put family first. Corey was the type of person to treat his nieces and nephews like his own, he was one of a kind. Corey loved fishing, camping and spending time with family. Corey was always smiling and did not know a stranger, everyone was his friend.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Tuesday, April 30, 2024 at the Garner Funeral Home, Monroe City, Missouri, Mr. Ed Talton will officiate. Visitation will be held from 10:00 am Tuesday until time of services at the Garner Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the St. Jude Cemetery, Monroe City, Missouri. Pallbearers will be Andy Utterback,, Erin Mayfield, Brendon Douglas, Kamron Mayfield, Joey Cox and Anthony Santana. Honorary pallbearers will be Reid Dowell, Kent Holland, Dustin Mayfield, Alex Mayfield, Kasside Rozkiewicz and Kelsie Rozkiewicz. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Garner Funeral Home & Chapel, Monroe City, Missouri. Online condolences can be made at garnerfuneralchapel.com.

Me & Corey worked together & I always saw him like a loving uncle that I never had, we were always picking on each other but Corey knows I loved him dearly.
