It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Corey Proulx, who was taken too soon from this world on June 25th 2024, at the age of 49. Born on July 11th 1974 in Merrill, to Ed & Kathy Proulx, Corey lived a life filled with passion and curiosity. Corey graduated in 1992 from Merrill High School, and later continued his education in his career. His love for the outdoors was evident from a young age, and he spent countless hours hunting, fishing, and exploring the woods he held so dear. Each journey through nature was a testament to his deep appreciation for its beauty and tranquility.
Beyond his love for the wilderness, Corey had an adventurous spirit that led him to travel far and wide. Whether trekking through rugged landscapes or discovering new cultures, he embraced each adventure with enthusiasm and an open heart. He would try anything once, twice to be sure.
Professionally, Corey was Youth Counselor at Lincoln Hills for a year and a half. However, his true joy came from his family and friends. He was a devoted fiancé to Deann Roble, and a loving father to Hanna Harris (Proulx) he delighted in sharing his passion for the outdoors with them.
In his leisure time, Corey could often be found out in the woods, in his boat on the lake, or watching Bob Ross as he would try to replicate and create his own works inspired by him. His skills as a hunter were matched only by his patience and respect for nature.
Corey's generosity, kindness, and unwavering spirit touched the lives of everyone he met. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Though he is no longer with us physically, Corey's adventurous spirit and love for life will continue to inspire us all. May he find eternal solace in the embrace of nature he so dearly loved.
Corey is survived by his daughter Hanna Harris (Proulx), his fiancé Deann Roble and her children Austin, Ashlyn, Ethan. He is also survived by his parents Ed and Kathy Proulx and his siblings: Michelle(Ariel), Lisa(Ernie), Brian, Andy, Cindy(Don), Lynn(Mark), and Tristen(Sara), aunt: Kathy Burish, cousins: Dan, Matt and Nikki Burish, along with vast amounts of nieces and nephews that he will be dearly missed by.
Corey is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents: Mr. and Mrs. Alice (Jeannette Kucera) Joseph B. Proulx, uncle: Thomas Burish and Wilhelmine Crotteau & Leslie Crotteau.
While Corey’s time came too soon, he was able to give the gift of life to those through organ donation.
