Corey Alexander Whitehead, age 47, passed away on August 2, 2025, at Forrest General Hospital surrounded by his loved ones.
He was born on February 10, 1978, in Laurel, MS, Corey was a 1996 graduate of Pearl River Central High School. He went on to work at McDonald's in Slidell, LA, where he was known for his dedication and friendly spirit.
Corey had a creative soul and a deep appreciation for the arts. He enjoyed sculpting, drawing, and spending time outdoors catching crabs. His artistic talent and unique perspective brought beauty and joy to those who knew him.
He was a member of New Hebron Baptist Church, where he practiced his faith as a Baptist and found strength in his beliefs.
Corey was preceded in death by his loving mother, Veronica Fowler; his stepfather, Clemon Fowler; his grandparents, Robert and Mattie Whitehead; and two aunts, Robin Graham and Queen Victoria Whitehead-Henry.
To cherish and carry on his memories are his devoted sister, Anitra Whitehead-Smith (Robert), and nephew, Kenston Smith, all of Carriere, MS.
He also leaves behind his two uncles, Roger Whitehead and Cecil Whitehead; five aunts, Margaret Whitehead, Sharon Whitehead, Rosemary Whitehead, and Annette Whitehead, all of Carriere, MS; and Cheri Walton (Terry) of Gulfport, MS; and with many loving cousins and friends.
Corey 's gentle spirit, kind heart, and creative talents will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Reverend George Tillman will officiate at the service.
