Craig Millett Hansen

Craig Millett Hansen, 83, of Lindon, Utah, passed away on July 17, 2025, doing what he loved - working in his yard. He was born to Magnus and Ellen Millett Hansen on December 26, 1941, in Salt Lake City, Utah. Born just 33 minutes after midnight, he was a near-Christmas baby, a fact he loved sharing with others. He married Earlene Thomas in the Manti, Utah temple on July 26, 1962. They were sealed for time and all eternity and shared 52 loving years together before her passing in 2014.
Craig was raised in Lindon and Pleasant Grove, Utah and graduated from Pleasant Grove High School in 1960. His work ethic began early, working in the Lindon orchards as a young boy. He spent his life as a skilled carpenter and took great pride in his work, even if he always had more projects started than finished. He built his own home and contributed to notable projects including the Wells Fargo Tower, Pleasant Grove Junior High, the Jewish Community Center, and McKay-Dee Hospital. As a loyal BYU fan, Craig rarely missed a game and loved cheering on the Cougars with family. One of his favorite places to be was at Strawberry Reservoir, camping and fishing with Earlene, their children, and grandchildren. He spent the last years of his life continuing projects on his home and yard, spending time with family, and watching the deer in the yard from his front porch. Above all, Craig deeply loved his family and he will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Craig is survived by his four children: Lisa Hampton, Lindon; Brett (Michelle) Hansen, St. George; Chris (Nicole) Hansen, American Fork; and Derek (Jaclyn) Hansen, Vineyard; 14 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister Nora Ann Wiener, Oklahoma and brother Dale Hansen, California. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; his daughter Kelli Sunday and her two children, Amy and Dillion; and his two brothers Franklin and Lee.

An evening viewing will be held Tuesday, July 22, 2025 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm in the Olpin Family Mortuary chapel, 494 South 300 East, Pleasant Grove, Utah. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 23, 2025 at 11:00 am at the Lindon 4th Ward Chapel, 731 E Center Street, Lindon, Utah. Family and friends may attend a viewing from 9:30 – 10:45 am prior to the service. Interment will be in the Lindon City Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.olpinmortuary.com.
