Craig WM. Hill was born in Brooklyn, New York on 8-2-52 to Dorothea Hill (Vogt) and Frank Hill. Craig and his Siblings (Lynne Hill and Frank Hill) resided in East Meadow, NY.

After spending summers in upstate NY they decided to make their new home in that area and purchased a building in Jeffersonville, NY and opened a store. They manufactured a variety of gift items and souvenirs. Craig became friends with the Owner of the Villa Roma Hotel in Callicoon, and next thing you know he had a gift shop in the Villa. During those years Craig managed the ski chalet, was involved with theatre, played golf (BC Open Tournament). He was a member of the Jeffersonville Fire Department, Ambulance Corp and always volunteered when needed. A political run as Town Supervisor Callicoon, NY was something he really had an interest in and was quite an experience. During this time Craig also played a lot of softball. He joined "Goodies" softball team in Liberty, NY. They played in many tournaments, and took home many trophies. One night after a ball game he met a girl and the next chapter of his life began.

Instant electricity became a marriage to Barbara Zaletel and they loved each other for 41 years. He became a father to his cherished daughter Nicole. He loved this baby more than life itself. Of course, he had her playing tee ball when she was three. Craig and family relocated to Barbara's home town of Berkeley Heights, NJ. Craig picked up and started a new career path. He became a Dispatch Manager for a large trucking company. This was working great but unfortunately the gas shortage in the country was not great for the company. A family member in town said to try Columbia School in town they need help. Nine years later Craig was a seasoned maintenance worker.

He always found the best in everything and so he did at Columbia. He had so much fun with his co-workers, he would come home everyday and tell stories about jokes and laughs that they had. He would wax the halls of the school and brag about how it would shine. It was "his" school and proud of it. Whenever anyone needed anything he was there to help. In 2009 Craig became father of the bride and gained a new son in law Vito J. Milano. Not too long after his twin grandboys Joseph and Anthony were born. Joseph and Anthony were Craig's "Boys". When they were in sports he was there early, front row, cheering loud and proud. His "boys" could do no wrong. A family tradition: Craig loved going to LBI every year with his family. He loved body surfing, donuts from Ferrarra's, and playing with his grandkids. Life was good! Craig's other happy place was sitting by the dock at Lake Gaston, N.C. He loved to swim, take rides on the boat, and soar across the lake on a jet ski. Nothing gave Craig more joy than being with all of his family.

In 2020 Craig became ill with cancer and battled hard. He would go to Sloan, get an infusion

and then go right into work. Finally it wore him down and he fought as hard as he could but went

to heaven on September 4, 2025.

Craig will be remembered with smiles and laughter, jokes, kindness and love always. His family and friends will tell stories and laugh and cry forever more.

Delmore Avenue is such a lovely little block...and Craig, Barbara and Nicole are part of what makes it special. Coming home or driving out, there was Craig , after a long day at work, mowing and landscaping their darling home...and he ALWAYS gave the greatest smile and a big hello as I passed. It was just weeks ago, I joined him and Barbara for a walk down the block...and I had a hard time keeping up with him on his walker while he talked and laughed - I love that memory. Sometimes, although you don't socialize a lot, just having neighbors like them make you feel good about where you call home. Our deepest sympathy for your family at this difficult time - Wendy, Jonathan and Kristof Slevens
