Curtis was born on August 17, 1980 to Lue Etherly and Tanga Denton. He
departed this earth on Friday, January 20, 2023 at Mansfield Methodist Hospital in
Mansfield, Texas.
Curtis grew up in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. He attended Watson Chapel High School.
He attended The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff for college and later upon
moving to Texas, Curtis attended and graduated from The University of Texas at
Arlington majoring in General Studies. Curtis served in the United States Military
in the Army National Guard. Curtis was an Army Veteran and served one year
overseas in Iraq. Curtis was a member of Phi Beta Sigma fraternity.
Curtis accepted Christ in his life and gave his heart to God at a young age and he
rededicated his life to Christ and was baptized in 2010 at Bethlehem Baptist
Church.
In January of 2003, Curtis began his relationship with Alison, who later became his
wife on July 22, 2006. Curtis and Alison had three children, Curtis Etherly, Jr.
(2005-2005), Allyssa Etherly and Taylor Etherly. Curtis loved his family so much.
He enjoyed spending time with his family.
In 2008, Curtis and Alison moved their family to Texas. Curtis was employed as a
Store Manager with Autozone for over a decade. Curtis enjoyed working on cars.
He even enjoyed teaching his younger daughter, Taylor how to work on cars.
Curtis leaves to cherish his memories to his devoted and beloved wife of 16 years,
Alison Etherly, two daughters, Allyssa Etherly and Taylor Etherly, his mother
Tanga Denton, his father Lue Etherly, two grandmothers, Bessie Denton and
Norma Etherly, sister Stephanie (Cedric) Carter, brothers Cedric (Nakitta) Etherly,
and DeLucas Etherly, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
