Curtis Earl Watson of Caney, Oklahoma passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, November 6th, 2025, at the age of 87, in
Denison, Texas. He was born on June 1st, 1938, in Caney, Oklahoma to T.G. Watson and Iva (Lackey) Watson.
Curtis in his younger years moved to Grand Prairie, Texas to work and later met and married the love of his life Linda (Goforth) and together spent 56 years together rarely being apart, from this union Curtis and Linda had twin girls Carla and Darla Watson.
Curtis and Linda moved to Bryan County and were residents there for many years until his health began to decline and he moved to
Denison, Texas to live with his daughter and son-in-law.
Curtis was of the Pentecostal faith and served as Deacon for many years at his home church in Durant, Oklahoma. He loved to sing, play his guitar and was over the radio broadcast services and held many singings at church to help raise money to keep the Pastors ministry going every Sunday morning over KSEO radio. Curtis was a god-fearing man that loved Jesus with all his heart and whether you knew him or you didn't he made sure that every conversation he held his love of God was mentioned. Curtis held a jail service for the men and enjoyed every minute of it talking about Jesus.
Curtis was a hardworking man worked for Peabody and Gallion for many years, Buddy Spencer Ford, and retired after many years of service from Sundowner trailers. He loved his family and there wasn't anything he wouldn't do or try to do for his family getting up while it was dark and get home most times when it was dark never complained or rarely missed a day of work. He loved to have a good time whether it was joking or pulling a prank on anyone around him you had to watch your back constantly, you never knew what he was up too. He loved talking on the phone and each night before he went to bed guaranteed you would be getting a call to say goodnight and I will be praying for you and sleep tight.
Curtis passed away on his dad's birthday and as our hearts are broken here because we don't have our daddy or our poppa here physically it is a blessing to know that he is in Heaven rejoicing with Jesus and having a great big celebration with his Momma, Daddy, Brothers and In-laws and so many others gone before him.
Curtis is survived by his wife of the home Linda Darlene Watson, Denison TX, daughters Carla Watson of Ardmore, Oklahoma. Darla (Watson) Garrett and son-in-law Jeff Garrett,
