With profound sadness, the family of Curtiss Michael Mull, 58, announces his passing on August 6, 2025, at his home in Beaufort, SC. Curt was born April 17, 1967, in Chicago, Illinois, to Michael Douglas Mull and Patricia Ann Hummel Mull, the oldest of their four children. He graduated from Lake Brantley High School, Altamonte Springs, FL, where he was named a 1984 National High School Football All-American. He was inducted into the Lake Brantley Hall of Fame in 2020, and his #77 football jersey retired. Curt's athletic prowess attracted the attention of many D1 colleges, and he signed a scholarship to play football at the University of Georgia, where he was a four-year letterman from 1986-89, earning All-SEC distinction as an Offensive Tackle in 1989. Curt played for legendary coach Vince Dooley in the Sun Bowl ('85), Hall of Fame Bowl ('86), Liberty Bowl ('87), and Gator Bowl ('88), the final game in Coach Dooley's illustrious career, a resounding win over the Michigan State Spartans. Under Coach Ray Goff, Curt also played in the Peach Bowl ('89) and the invitation-only 1989 Senior Bowl for NFL draft prospects. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Georgia and a Master of Business Administration from Mercer University. Curt played one season with the Dallas Cowboys as a right tackle under Jimmy Johnson and continued his professional career with NFL Europe's Barcelona Dragons, World League's Ohio Glory, and Arena Football League's Orlando Predators. After leaving professional football, Curt began a successful 30-year career in pharmaceutical sales, winning multiple President's Club, peer and patient advocate awards. Even more significant, he met his wife-to-be and soulmate Katie Temple on August 16, 1999, when both attended the same medical conference in South Carolina. Curt and Katie were married in 2001, and joyously welcomed their sons, Walker (2002) and Mason (2004). Both boys inherited their father's athleticism, and Curt proudly coached their youth football teams in Alpharetta and Cumming for seven years, followed by the Vickery Vipers Middle School Football team for four years and the West Forsyth High School Wolverines offensive line from 2017-2020. Away from the gridiron, Curt enjoyed hiking the Blue Ridge Mountains, golfing and snow skiing with friends and family, running, and reading. His Florida childhood instilled a lifelong love of water sports, and Curt was a top-level scuba diver, earning his SSI Rescue Diver Certification in 2023. He taught his boys to dive and enjoyed many diving, boating and fishing excursions with his sons. A devoted family man who always prioritized his wife and sons, Curt was beloved by his many friends, especially his Georgia Bulldog letterman brothers. He deeply loved his friends and neighbors and demonstrated his love with acts of service, pitching in with sweat equity on projects ranging from home renovations, backyard landscaping, even loading moving trucks full of furniture. Curt and Katie moved to Beaufort when their boys left for college, continuing their dad's legacy at the University of Georgia. Curt's favorite pastime was sitting on his porch with family and friends, watching the South Carolina sunset. Curt is survived by his wife, Katie Temple Mull; his sons, Walker and Mason Mull; his sisters Gretchen Mull Hudson of Birmingham, Alabama, and Meghan Mull of Seattle, Washington; a brother, Christopher Mull of Grapevine, Texas; his mother, Pat Hummel; his stepmother, Priscilla "Perky" Mull; and three nieces and two nephews. He is predeceased by his father, Michael Mull. A celebration of Curt's life will be held at Alpharetta Presbyterian Church at 2pm on Friday, August 22. Interment will follow at a later date at Bulldog Haven. In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial gift to the Kirby Smart Family Foundation, to honor Curt's legacy of service. If you choose to make a gift, please include "In memory of Curt Mull" in C the donation description. https://athensareacf.fcsuite.com/erp/donate/create/fund?funit_id=2287

As Curt's aunt I have such great memories of him as a child. A bright eyed blue eyed baby boy with blond hair . As a teen remember him with his little dog Bridget a toy poodle , such a contrast that big boy with his tiny little poodle. A gentle soul with a big smile. We were all blessed to know him.

We're so saddened by this news. My wife Dana worked with Curt in the late 90s and he was always so kind and awesome to spend time with. Now our son is a sophomore at Georgia and we were so excited to reconnect with Curt. Sending love and prayers to your entire family. May his memory be a blessing.
