Cynthia Baker Obituary
Cynthia, affectionately known to family and friends as "Joy," was born on March 21, 1948 to Hulet and Edna Burd, in Murray, Kentucky. She died on October 24, 2025 at her home in Scottsdale, Arizona, surrounded by her family.
Married to Kenneth Baker for 48 years, they raised three daughters: Kalee (James), Ginnie, and Sara (Shad).
A proud ASU graduate, she, in addition to raising children, worked as an accountant at Salt River Project for 40 years, until her retirement in 2003.
In addition to spending time with her family and friends, Joy loved reading, traveling, crafting, and musicals.
Joy is survived by her husband, three daughters, seven grandchildren: Kira, Lydia, Logan, Lexi, Jagger, Grayson, and Kami, and three great-grandchildren: Solomon, Oliver, and Finley.
In lieu of flowers, Joy asked that any donations be made to the Eckstein Center Hospice of the Valley.
