Cynthia Ann Gutierrez, lovingly known as Cindy, passed away peacefully on June 30, 2025, leaving behind a legacy characterized by her warmth, devotion, and generosity of spirit. Born on September 30, 1962, Cindy was a vibrant soul who touched the lives of all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Cindy’s heart was big as her love for children. She always had a special way of spoiling every child she met, pouring affection and kindness into their lives. One of her greatest joys came from being a great- grandmother to her beloved Starky. Her nurturing spirit and ability to bless those around her will forever be remembered.

A proud member of The Corpus Christi Altar of Prayer Church, Cindy cherished her faith and her brothers and sisters in Christ. Her participation within her community reflected her deep commitment to others and illustrated the profound connections she fostered throughout her life. A creative at heart, she enjoyed thrifting and was known as a DIY queen, always ready to embark on a new project or lend her hand to those in need.

Cindy is survived by her loving husband, Arnulfo Gonzalez; her son, Steven Gutierrez (Nicole Garza); and her cherished grandchildren, Steven Gutierrez Jr. (Angela Alvarez) and Johnathan Gutierrez. Additionally, she leaves behind her great-grandson, Steven Stark Gutierrez.

Her siblings and their families include, Yolanda Cisneros (Victor Cisneros), Luis Guzman Jr. (Patricia Guzman), Malorie Guzman, Samuel Guzman (Lupe Guzman), Samuel Guzman Jr. (Luana Guzman), Peter Guzman (Kim), her godson, Jose Guzman; Gerardo Guzman Sr. (Emmy Guzman), Gerardo Guzman Jr. (Lacey Guzman), Clarissa A. Guzman, Vanessa Ann Guzman, her niece, Kahalani Lopez, Aurora J. Gonzalez, and the entire Gonzalez family. Each of them will forever carry her memory within their hearts.

Cindy was preceded in death by her father, Luis Guzman Sr.; her mother, Amparo Lopez Guzman; her beloved son, Johnathan Philip Gutierrez; and her brother, Donald Guzman. Their memories are cherished, and her spirit will live on through her family and friends.

Cindy will be dearly missed, but her legacy of love, kindness, and creativity will forever inspire those she left behind.

Cindy’s family will receive condolences on Monday, July 7, 2025, at Treviño Funeral Home, 3006 Niagara St. @ Port Ave., from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM; with a Prayer Service to begin at 7:00 PM.
