Ms. Cynthia Renee Preston, age 54, of Louisville, Kentucky, returned to her Heavenly Father on Wednesday, September 6, 2023. She was born on March 4, 1969 to Sara Jo Preston (McCubbins) and the late Charles Preston in Louisville, Kentucky. Ms. Preston was a member of Zion United Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her father; maternal grandparents, Clyde and Elizabeth McCubbins; and paternal grandparents, William and Ethel Preston.
She leaves to cherish her memory her mother, Sara Jo Preston (Clarence Johnson); uncle, Buddy McCubbins (Carolyn); cousins Sharon Bryden, Lisa Woosley, Andrea Miller, Angela Shoffner, Jeffrey Miller, Rusty McCubbins, Jim McCubbins, Matt McCubbins and Katie Perez, precious fur baby, Leo and a host of many friends.
Cynthia graduated from Butler Traditional High School. She received a BA from the University of Louisville and BSN from Spalding University. She dedicated her life to the noble profession of nursing, leaving an indelible mark on the lives she touched. Her unwavering commitment to healing, compassion, and caring for others was a testament to her extraordinary character. She was a Nurse Navigator at the Norton Cancer Institute.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Cynthia was a beacon of light in her personal life, as well. She was a loving daughter, cousin and friend. Her laughter was infectious, and her compassion boundless. She had an uncanny ability to make those around her feel heard, loved and cared for.
Cynthia lived life to the fullest, embracing every moment with grace and gratitude. She enjoyed traveling and her adventurous spirit often led her on memorable journeys, creating beautiful memories with those whom she loved. She loved animals and was a loving and dedicated human to her poodle, Leo.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 16, 2023 at 10:00 am in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy at Brooks Rd) with burial to follow in Lone Hill Cemetery. Family and friends may pay their respects on Friday, September 15, 2023 from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm and Saturday from 9:00 am until the service at 10:00 am.
