Cynthia Elizabeth Chandler-Turner passed away peacefully on June 18, 2025, at the age of 74 in Parksley, Virginia at Shore Health and Rehabilitation Center. Born on January 23, 1951, in Grasonville, Maryland, Cynthia was a cherished and devoted mother, friend, and mentor to many who knew her. Cynthia was predeceased by her beloved parents, William and Mary Chandler; her sister, Ethel (Frank) Weatherly; brothers, LeRoy Chandler and William Chandler Jr.; and her dear daughter, Michelle Chandler.
A proud graduate of Mary N. Smith High School in 1969, Cynthia's thirst for knowledge and growth led her to the Essex College of Business where she honed her skills as a bookkeeper. Cynthia's career began as an expert seamstress at the Gilbert Hat Factory, where her talent and leadership qualities quickly earned her the position of a supervisor. She later transitioned to a secretarial role at King Cole in Delaware.
Cynthia's zest for life was evident in her love for travel and exploration, as she seized every opportunity to discover new places and cultures. Known as a fashionista, she never failed to make a statement with her unique style, which was as vibrant and expressive as her personality. Cynthia found great inspiration in Gospel music, turning to the word and melodies for comfort on days when she could not attend church services. Her passion for films also provided her with endless joy, as she cherished the times spent watching movies.
Cynthia will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by all who were fortunate enough to know her and be touched by her radiant spirit. She has left a legacy of love, grace, and beauty that will continue to light the path of those she has left behind.
Left to cherish her memories: her son, Samuel (Sharon) Boggs, Jr.; sisters, Evelyn (Lester) Joyner and Shelia Ayres; brothers, David (Teresa) Chandler, Robert (Annagail) Sturgis, Michael Chandler, and Reginald Chandler; two adopted brothers, Minister Vincent (Dora) West and Michael (Sherry) West; adopted parents, Joseph and Inez Bailey; special friend, Sybil Livingston; along with the host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, countless friends, and relatives whom she loved.
