D. Dorine Dimond

D. Dorine (Oliver) Dimond, passed away peacefully on Sunday morning, January 19, 2025.
Domenica was the first born daughter to the late Mary Lippie and Carmelo Oliver on November 23rd, 1928. Dorine married Francis G. Dimond on February 8th, 1953, sharing 54 years of marriage until his passing January 15th, 2007. Dorine lived most of her life in Fonda and spent summers at Pine Lake. Dorine graduated in 1946 from Fonda High School and is the past president of the Fonda High School Alumni Association.
In 1964 she obtained her Insurance Brokers and Agent License and established Dimond Agency in Fonda leading to her association with Beacon Insurance Group in Amsterdam and was a longtime member and past President of the Professional Insurance Agents of Fulton County.
As a lifelong member of Saint Cecilia's Roman Catholic Church in Fonda, Dorine served as Lector, Bingo Worker and member of the Finance Committee and Church Council.
In addition, Dorine was a faithful member of the Glen Mohawk Seniors, having held many of the leadership offices. Dorine is a charter member of VFW Post #942 Auxiliary and a member of the Italian American Historical Society.
Dorine relaxed by knitting, crocheting, baking, building puzzles, was an avid reader in addition to listening to Lawrence Welk music and watching Hallmark Theatre on television.
Dorine is predeceased by her beloved daughter, Francine Marie Wyzomirski on March 31, 2005, her sister Dorothy Marie Barker of Randall, Frances Dybas of Amsterdam and Marlene Augustine of Fonda, her niece Lynn Oliver of Seaford, Long Island.
Survivors include her son Roy S. Dimond (Karen), granddaughter, Chelsea; her daughters' children, Marc Wyzomirski (Amber) of Kentucky, Sarah Ann Wyzomirski and son- in- law Paul Wyzomirski of Fonda, her brother Carmelo (Carmen) (Barbara) Oliver Jr. and niece, Lori of Seaford, Long Island. In addition, many other nieces, nephews and cousins.
Dorine has been blessed with so many friends during her lifetime. Her very special friends Barbara Tambasco, her special niece, Lisa Augustine Kosinski, her insurance family, her Pine Lake neighbors and special friends John and Michelle Wiltey, Michele Furnare, Dani Barman and the late Karen Ford.

A Calling period will be held prior to the Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday January 23, 2025 from 9:30 AM until 11:00 AM at St. Cecilia's Church, Broadway, Fonda, NY. Mass will begin at 11:00AM Thursday with Fr. Juanito Asprec, P.V. as celebrant. Burial will take place in the spring, in Maple Avenue Cemetery, Fultonville, NY.
