With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Dacy Ann Wampler, who left this world on October 4, 2025. Dacy was born on May 5, 1934, in Decker, IN the daughter of Sterling and Murel (McCrary) Briner.
A proud graduate of Fritchton High School Dacy loved playing games and especially loved euchre, meeting with friends and family, often playing cards at the Knights of Columbus. Most importantly she loved spending time with her family and loved being a grandma and Gi Gi. She worked at Good Samaritan Hospital for thirty-five years as a Medical Transcriptionist.
Survivors include her children, John Wampler and his wife Carol, Sue Smith both of Vincennes; sister, Dixie Miller of Indianapolis, IN; her grandchildren, Michelle Holscher and her husband Ryan, Tim Wampler, Jeff Smith and his wife Cammie, and her great grandchildren, Reed Holscher, Gavin Wampler, Emberlynn Smith and Tyson Smith. Dacy is preceded in death by her parents, Sterling and Murel Briner, one brother, Robert Briner, her great granddaughter, Abigail Holscher and her son-in-law, Anthony "Butch" Smith.
In honoring her life, her family will be holding a memorial service at Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home on Monday, October 13, 2025, beginning at 1:00 pm. Friends may visit with her family from 11:00 am until the hour of service time. Online memories may be shared with Dacy's family and friends at www.goodwinsieversfh.com. Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home is privileged and honored to be entrusted with the care of Dacy and her family. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Vincennes Animal Shelter or Make A Wish Foundation.
