Born in Harmon, Oklahoma, to Ivan and Helen Wampler, he grew up with a curious mind and a creative spirit that guided him throughout his life. He graduated from Dumas High School and enlisted in the United States Army. He served two years of active duty including 18 months in Europe. He went on to earn his bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering from Texas A&M University in 1957. He was a very proud Aggie and dedicated alumni. His professional career started out with Hughes Tool Company in Houston, Texas and then relocated to Amarillo Texas in 1967 and worked at Pantex until he retired.

In 1958, he married the love of his life, Belva Irene, and together they shared 67 years of unwavering love and partnership. Their marriage was a testament to laughter, faith, and the simple joy of being together. His smile and “ah come on”, let you know exactly where your story stood. His care for his wife, family and friends was without equal, and he cherished being with them as much as possible.

Kenneth was an avid outdoorsman who found peace in nature, especially during hunting trips. He was a gifted painter whose art showed his love of nature.

He is survived by his beloved wife Belva, 2 daughters LaDonna Tunnell and Arlena Jonas, 3 grandchildren Tricia Tunnell, Jack Tunnell, and MaKailey Jonas, 2 great-grandchildren Carson McSwain, Conley McSwain and extended family Mitch and Kim Carry, Scott, Ashley and Andi. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ivan and Helen Wampler and 4 siblings, Lena, Wilbur, Betty and Jeanne.

Kenneth will be remembered for his charismatic smile and laughter, his creativity, and the love he poured into his family. His legacy will live on in the laughter of his family and friends and the brushstrokes of his art.
