Daile Van Patten, 78, of Endwell, NY, passed away peacefully on January 20, 2026. Daile was born on March 3, 1947 in Endicott, NY. After graduating from Owego Free Academy in 1965, he went on to play collegiate soccer while attending Kent State University. Following his master's degree completion in 1970, Daile taught physical education for the Johnson City School District.
He went on to establish and own his business, Southern Tier Gymnastic Academy (STGA), for over 35 years. Throughout that time, he coached numerous gymnasts that went on to earn elite status, college scholarships, national championships, and other impressive accolades. He was a pillar in the gymnastic community serving as the regional TOPS coordinator and directing the I Love New York Cup, one of the northeast's premier Junior Olympic gymnastics competitions.
In his free time, he also enjoyed playing golf, boating, fishing, and spending time with his family.
Daile is survived by his wife Linda (Jageman) Van Patten, son Chad Van Patten, step-daughter Michelle Stout, brother Cecil Van Patten, sister Bonnie Van Patten, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Daile is predeceased by his father Walter Van Patten, mother Elaine (Watkins) Van Patten, twin sister Diane Van Patten, step daughter Rachel Mauger and her significant other Patrick Broschart.
Funeral Services for Daile will be held on Wednesday, January 28, 2026 at 5pm at the Allen Memorial Home, 511-513 East Main Street, Endicott. The family will receive friends on Wednesday at the Allen Memorial Home from 3pm until Service time at 5pm.
