Dale Booher, age 83, of Kettering, passed away on September 19, 2025. He was born December 13, 1941, in Troy, Ohio.
Dale graduated from Fairmont High School in 1960 before attending Cincinnati Barber College, where he graduated in 1961. He enjoyed a successful career as a barber for many years, which he approached with the same dedication he later showed as a first responder. Dale worked as a volunteer firefighter and EMT for 27 years, serving as Captain to Station 37 for 22 years. With the unwavering dedication he served to the city of Riverside as a barber, he received a day of recognition observed on March 15, 2024, the Dale Booher Day, awarded to him by the mayor. Along with the recognition from Riverside, Dale received a proclamation for Volunteer of the Year for the city of Kettering in 1997--Dale was proud to serve is community.
Dale was known to be a friend to all, always willing to lend a helping hand. His warmth and generosity will be deeply missed, as he has become a legend in the hearts of those who knew him. He could build and create just about anything, showcasing skills as a welder and metal worker, as well as a passion for refurbishing older cars and making furniture. Notably, one of his favorite hobbies was flying, and he took great pride in being a pilot.
Dale's legacy and memory will be cherished by his beloved wife of 45 years, Dreama (Calvert) Booher; children, Andrew (Sandy) Booher, Crystal (Steve) Hayden, and Dreama (Tony) Demons; grandchildren, Stacy (Tove) Booher, Miranda (Luke) Morgan, Alex Booher, Erin Riley, Seth Riley, Shawn Riley, Kyle Cumming, Madison Cumming, Savannah Hayden, Eva Hayden, Brian (Meadow) Calvert, Emily Johnson, Kaley Johnson, and Tyler Johnson; great-grandchildren, Ella, Beckett, Grayson, Ash, River, and Luca; and many extended family members and friends.
Preceding him in death are his parents; Robert and Viola (Artz) Booher, and his daughter, Elizabeth Riley.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 1, 2025 at 12:00PM at Miami Shores Baptist Church, 4000 Vance Rd, Moraine, OH 45439. Family and friends may visit from 11:00AM until the time of service. Burial will follow at New Carlisle Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society in memory of Dale.
