Dalia Arriaga Tracey, 74, of Corpus Christi, Texas, passed away peacefully with her husband by her side on November 27, 2024. She is preceded in death by her parents, Jose Arriaga and Josephina Rangel Barrera; sister, Amelia Velasquez; goddaughter, Andrea Velasquez; brother-in-law, Estanislado Griego; and grandson, David James Rodriquez.
Dalia was born in Corpus Christi, Texas, on December 26, 1949. She attended Ray High School in Corpus Christi and Rancho High School in Las Vegas. She studied accounting at Del Mar College and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi. She worked as a tax preparer, starting her own firm in 2007.
Dalia loved to dance and spend time in her garden. She also was an animal lover who took in and cared for several stray cats, in addition to her beloved dog, Buster.
She is survived by her husband of 51 years, James; children, Mel Galvan (Rene) and Leslie Minor (Jeff); grandchildren, Victor Rodriguez, Adam Rodriguez (Austin Schuman), and Cameron Galvan (Olivia); great-granddaughter, Alexis Rodriquez (Danny Cordova); great-great-granddaughter, Alice Mae Cordova; siblings, Dora Jaramillo, Robert Arriaga (Sylvia), and Diana Griego; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Dalia will always be remembered for her smile and positive attitude. She will be missed by all who loved her.
Donations to the Humane Society in Dalia's name would be greatly appreciated.
