DANIEL PHILLIPS

 Daniel Nathan Phillips, age 70, also known as “Dan the Man” to his family and friends, a resident of Cayce, KY, passed away December 30, 2024, at Baptist Health of Paducah, KY 

He was born January 19, 1954, in Memphis, TN, the son of the late Willie Leevern and Susie Erlene Davis Phillips. He graduated from Overton High School in 1973 and graduated from Molar Barber College. He owned and operated South Fulton Barber Shop for a few years. He worked with Orthopedic and Prosthetics for Human Technology, Inc. for over forty years.

He will be remembered of man, who loved helping people.

He was a member of the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, Fulton, KY 

Mr. Phillips is survived by his wife, Yvonne Lomax Phillips, whom he married on November 22, 1980; two daughters, Marissa Phillips Bawcum of Union City, TN and Valerie Phillips Alexander (John) of South Fulton, TN; four grandchildren, Riley Alexander, Everly Alexander, Emerson Alexander, all of South Fulton, TN, and Daniel Bawcum of Jackson, TN. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, DuWayne B. Phillips.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Saturday, January 4th at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue with Bro. Mark Dowdy officiating. Burial will follow at Johnsons Crossroads Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Crook Avenue 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM on Saturday. 

A Celebration of Life Service will also be held at a later dated at the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Fulton, KY.
