Dana Dixon

New Sweden - It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Dana Dixon, 81, of New Sweden, who died peacefully at his home on Friday, December 26, 2025. Dana was born on August 27, 1944, in Stockholm, Maine, to Gordon and Beatrice (Wedberg) Dixon.
Dana was a proud Army Vietnam Veteran and a dedicated member of his community. He was a lifelong member of American Legion Post 136, where he honorably served as a Post Commander and DDVC, and held the esteemed position of First Vice for the Department of Maine American Legion. Additionally, he was a lifelong member of VFW Post 9389, a member of the Sportsman Club of Stockholm, the Polish American Club in Connecticut and Lifelong member of Lutheran Trinity Church Stockholm, Maine.
For 30 years, Dana dedicated his professional life to Timex, working in their data processing department. After retiring, he continued to contribute to his community by working as a custodian at the Cary Medical Center in Caribou, Maine.
Dana was a man who lived life with joy and a contagious sense of humor. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed being a member of both the Western Hills Golf League and the Timex Golf League. He shared a special bond with his mother, he would play the piano and she sang along whenever the opportunity arose. Dana had a remarkable ability to make people smile and always had a good joke ready for any situation.
He was married to his beloved wife, Myrna, for 52 wonderful years, a testament to their enduring love and partnership.
Dana was preceded in death by his parents, Gordon and Beatrice Dixon; his brothers, "Louie" and Wayne; his sisters, Barbara and Warrena; and four beloved nephews.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Myrna, and many cherished special nieces and nephews who will dearly miss him.
