Dana Robert Kreft, age 54, passed away unexpectedly and went to be with his Lord and Savior on October 27, 2021. Dana was a loving husband, dad, son, and brother. He was kind, caring, generous, and very thoughtful. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert John Kreft. He is survived by his wife, Paula Harper Kreft; sons, Robert Kreft and Justin Kreft; stepson, Nick Harper (Emma Wall); mother, Judy Baptiste (Bill Walton); stepmother, Donna Kreft Thalacker (John); sister, Sarah Kreft; and brother, Mike Kreft. He was very close to his in-laws and loved by his extended family, special neighbors, and many friends. Dana enjoyed traveling, bowling, playing video games with his son Robert, and going to his son Justin's baseball games. He was known for his love of good food, grilling out for his family and taking care of his numerous plants. Dana was a member of First Roanoke (First Baptist Church). He graduated from Radford University and worked for General Electric as a Senior Software Engineer. He was a very talented engineer and received patent awards for his work. Memorial contributions can be made to God's Pit Crew or Samaritan's Purse, and flowers will also be accepted. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 3, 2021, at First Baptist Roanoke (Faith Chapel), 321 Marshall Avenue, Roanoke, VA, with Dr. Bryan Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Old Dominion Memorial Gardens. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service beginning at 10:00 a.m. at First Roanoke.
