Dana Jay Potts

Dana Jay Potts, 71, of Hendersonville NC passed into the arms of his Savior on October 21, 2023. He was born in Lebanon IN the second child of Robert and Sue Potts. The family moved to Fort Lauderdale FL in 1959 and made that home. After college at Miami Christian University, Grace Theological Seminary and Indian Purdue University he and his wife settled in Delray Beach FL. He was a graphic designer and special sections writer for the Sun Sentinel for 25 years. In 2015 they moved to Hendersonville NC. He loved the mountains and, enjoyed all they had to offer.
He loved Jesus and had a heart for people, working with Samaritan's Purse Operation Christmas Child at Calvary Chapel in Fort Lauderdale and, Boca Raton and then with the Baptist Men's disaster relief team from the Hendersonville First Baptist Church.
He leaves behind his wife of 49 years Susan (Schou) Potts, brother Jeffrey Allen Potts of Deerfield Beach FL, sister-in-law Shelley (Schou) Nixon of Lakewood CO and much loved nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at First Baptist Church of Hendersonville NC on Friday October 27, 2023. Visitation begins at 1:00pm followed by the service at 2:00pm.
