My sincere condolences to all the loved ones Dana leaves behind. I was heartbroken to hear of Dana´s passing.
We had been friends for 50+ years. We had been through some tough times and happy times together.
I know he is at peace now and back with the love of his life Michelle.
I pray for all his family and friends (Tony Butay) to gain strength with the memories of Dana so that the sorrow of his passing will lessen.
I have many fond memories of Dana...camping with he and my husband Toby back then. It was a very cold February night camping on Mt. Diablo. Something woke us up in the middle of the night and we were all scared to death. We ended up hopping to our car still in our sleeping bags as fast as we could.
And all Dana could think about was the Doritos....
And all the concerts we went to....oh too many to count. One concert in particular was so entertaining...not the band but the antics of Toby and Dana together...
Yes Dana loved Rock music, but his real passion was Motown music. He had a room solely dedicated to Motown. It was beautifully designed and decorated...he loved this room and every piece he had in it.
In later years Dana treated me to a concert by Mary Wilson, an original member of the Supremes. He also took me to see the Temptations and Four Tops... we had a great time together and believe me...Dana was as happy as could be.
And of course...I cannot forget to mention his beloved 67 Camaro..."Snow Blind"........Other than his children, it was his pride and joy....I hope David will treasure it as much as his father had.
It is impossible for me to mention all of the memories that we had in our 50+ years of friendship, and I´m sure they will pop up in my mind as time goes by, which will help with the healing process for me as well.
Rest in Peace Dana, I´m sure we´ll meet up again...I´ll bring the Doritos.
