Daniel Thomas Baker

Muncie – On Sunday, November 9, 2025 was a glorious day for Danny! He is walking on the clouds hand in hand with Jesus.
Daniel Thomas Baker passed away on Sunday, November 9, 2025 at 7:20 pm, surrounded by family at I.U. Health Ball Memorial Hospital.
Danny graduated from Muncie Central High School in 1977 and was a proud veteran of The United States Army where he served for twelve years. He was stationed in places all over the country and spent time in Sinai, Egypt. He was very proud of his dedication to his country.
Danny truly loved God, his family and his country.
He enjoyed "gardening:, football (college and pro) and was a proud supporter of the Indianapolis Colts and especially spending time with all the children in his life.
He had the special honor and privilege of raising one of his granddaughters for ten years. She was one of the brightest spots in his life, along with his other grandchildren.
He leaves to cherish his memory a son, Jon (Liz); daughter, Amber (Billy), both who he loved dearly and prayed over them daily; a brother, Larry Baker (Patty); sisters, Sheri Baker, Paula Egan (John), Mary Harshman (Troy) and Barb Helm (Tim); Papa D also leaves behind his grandchildren, Lexi, Aurora, Balin Skylin, Julian and Ilam; nieces and nephews, Steve Schmitz (Stephanie), Renee Hansen (Rob), and Heather, Lindzi Hutton (Kyle), Talon, Jude, Finley and Raleigh; Amanda Ridge (Bobby), Ellie, Lucy and Henry; Adam Harshman (Haley) and Maeve; He also leaves behind his Aunt Freida and Uncle Don Roberts and Uncle Buddy Nafe, along with many loving cousins. His special friends, Tony and Karee Buffin, are now part of the Baker family. They are our Miracle!
He has belonged to a men's bible group "Renovare" for over 20 years with 25 men who he has walked through his Christian journey with! They are very special to him and to our family as well! Thank you gentleman!
Danny is being reunited with his parents, Paul Baker and Barbara Baker; a sister, Melissa Wendt (Larry); brother-in-law, Joe Truman; along with several aunts, uncles and cousins. Hallelujah!
We would like to extend a special thank you from the "Baker Family" to Dr. Yousuf Bahrami and his team, the amazing staff at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital fifth floor oncology and Hospice for the love and care you showed Danny and our family as well! You will always be angels in our eyes! Thank you for everything!

To celebrate Danny's life, friends and family may gather from 3:00 until 6:00 p.m. on Friday, November 14, 2025 at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel.
