Daniel Chell, 89, returned to the Lord on Saturday, November 2, 2024, in
Hamilton. Born to Russell and Cora Chell on January 30, 1935, in Trenton, New Jersey,
Daniel was a lifelong area resident. He served as a probation officer for the State of
New Jersey in Mercer County for nearly 40 years prior to his retirement.
Daniel was an active member and former president of the Italian American Sportsmen's
Club. He was also a dedicated civic servant and volunteered on various boards and
commissions for community causes.
Daniel loved to watch sports, especially the New York Yankees. He spent summers in
Long Beach Island, New Jersey and winters in Boca Raton, Florida with his late wife
Elaine. Daniel was a loving and devoted son, husband, father, grandfather, great-
grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend to many. More than anything, Daniel cherished
his time spent with family and his friends.
Daniel is predeceased by his wife, Elaine (DeBronzo) Chell; his son, Daniel DeBronzo
Chell; his brothers, John, Russell ("Bunce"), and Thomas Chell; his son-in-law, Peter
Silvestro; and his dear friend, John Innocenzi.
Daniel is survived by his four children: Donna and husband Joseph Grosso, Diane and
husband Mark Callahan, Darice Silvestro-Pate and husband Jeff Pate, and Darren Chell
and wife Danielle; eight grandchildren, Peter Silvestro and fiancée Tiffany Martin,
Matthew Callahan, Jordana Grosso, Anthony Silvestro, Ian Callahan, Danielle Grosso,
and Kennedy and Savana Chell; three great grandchildren, Peter Isaac, River Hayes,
and Stella Elaine Silvestro; brother Charles Chell and wife Mary; two sisters-in-law,
Elizabeth "Betty" and Lucille Chell; cherished lifetime friends, including Peter and Carol
Rossi, Pat Innocenzi, Bob and Arlene Adams, and Dave Carabelli; and many loving
nieces, nephews, and cousins.
