Daniel Thomas (Coop) Clyde, formerly of Hermitage. The Lord called Dan home unexpectedly on Thursday, February 27th after experiencing a cardiac episode in his Saybrook OH home. He was 67. Dan was born May 22, 1957, in Sharon, PA, a son of the late Thomas and Julia Bakunas Clyde. He married the former Maria Mensurati on October 18, 1980. Coop was a graduate of Sharon High and ATES Tech. He was employed at GATX until its closing and had a lengthy career as a commercial printer until health issues forced his retirement. A man of faith, he was a hands-on family guy and enjoyed coaching his children's activities as they grew. He golfed with his son and liked to fish with his daughter. Summers were spent camping at Geneva-On-The-Lake. Coop was a diehard Black & Gold fan and wore his colors often. Above all, he was fiercely proud of the adults his children grew to be. He delighted in being with his grandchildren weekly, who affectionately called him Papa, and would remind him to stay away from foods he shouldn't eat, especially potato chips. Dan is survived by his wife of 44 years, Maria, son, Thomas (Beth), their children Landon, Lila, and Leo, North Royalton OH and daughter, Samantha Reilly (Jeffrey) their children Mia, Parker and Carter, North Canton OH. He is also survived by his brother, David Clyde, Nashville. He was predeceased by his parents, and his sister, Jody Edgar. In keeping with his last wishes, Dan was cremated. A funeral mass will be held in his memory on Saturday, March 8,2025, at 1:00 pm at St Anthony of Padua, 804 Idaho St. Sharon. (A luncheon will follow at St. Joseph's Hall, 79 Case, Sharon). Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made in his name to The National Kidney Foundation. We still hear you, Dad, saying 'turn around, turn around' reminding us of life's swiftness. We'll remember your strength as you battled health issues. The love you showed us fortifies us to navigate life's turns without you. Dan, my love, I'll forever see you in our children and grandchildren's faces and mannerisms. We'll imagine you're out there looking for Big Foot! We raise a glass to you and send you off with a "Hootie Hoo". Ducro Funeral Services and Crematory, 4524 Elm Ave., Ashtabula is handling local arrangements.
