Daniel was born on October 31, 1963 in Wisconsin Rapids, the youngest son of
Glenn Forrest and Dorothy (Werner) Franson. He was raised in Pittsville, WI, and
attended Pittsville Grade School until being transferred to Madison Elementary
School in Marshfield, WI, which could provide for his special needs.
After the passing of his parents, Daniel moved to Wisconsin Rapids and resided
with his "favorite" sister and beloved brother-in-law Donna and Larry Trickle.
He began employment at Opportunity Development Center in Wisconsin Rapids in
1998 where he made many new friends. Daniel was a very social person with a
positive attitude. His love for life was evident in everything he did. He loved to
bowl, dance and travel whenever he had that opportunity.
In August 2011, after the passing of his brother-in-law, he began residing with Tim and
Roxie Brown and their family. They provided excellent care and love for him. Our
family will always be indebted to the Browns for all they did for Daniel and our family. We are blessed beyond words to have them in our lives. After residing at Brown's, Daniel resided at River Cities Estates for three years. Thank you to their staff.
Daniel was preceded in death by his father, Glenn Forrest Franson, and his mother, Dorothy Werner Franson, of Pittsville, Wisconsin.
He is also preceded in death by his only brother, Glenn Martin Franson, Sr. of San Antonio, Texas, as well as by his only brother-in-law, Larry Trickle of
Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin.
Daniel is survived by sister, Donna Franson Trickle of
Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin, his nephew, John Trickle (Barbara) of Wisconsin; his niece, Jennifer Trickle Hayes (Randall) if Florida.
He is also survived by his brother's spouse, Patricia Zweig-Franson, in addition to his niece, Shane Franson, as well as two nephews, Glenn Martin Franson, Jr. (Stacy) and Graham Bret Franson (Cynthia Lee), all of San Antonio, Texas.
Daniel has additional great nieces and great nephews who mourn his loss; they include Shanice Hayes, Justice Hayes (and son, Zyaire), Grey Hayes, Kayci Evans, Wesli Evans, Braydi Evans, Tyler Trickle (Maggie and son, Hudson), Brooke Sylvain, Catarina Caruso.
Daniel is also survived by a very special friend to me and our family, Dale Tracy. Daniel affectionately referred to Dale as "Dilly Boy". Their bond was amazing.
A special thank you to all the staff at Wisconsin Rapids Health Services who provided excellent care to Daniel. He formed a special bond with Deb and Wendy who were both with us as he transitioned into eternal life. Our family is very blessed to have them in our lives.
Thank you to the Heartland Hospice staff for all you did for us these past few weeks. Thank you also to ODC/Opportunity Development Center for your help enriching Daniel's life for many years. He loved being with his friends and proudly brought home his paycheck.
Thank you to all our friends and relatives over the years who helped us all make a wonderful life for our special angel.
My earth angel has gained his wings – love you sweet Daniel and blessed that you are back in the arms of mom and dad.
