Daniel M. Glenn, (age 87) died peacefully at his Westerville Ohio home, surrounded by family, on July 16, 2024. Dan was born September 24, 1936 in Covington Kentucky, the youngest son of Delmer Henry Glenn and Francis Glenn (Wooley). Dan was preceded in death by his parents and four siblings: Nida (Bob) Kramer; Pete (Dorothy) Glenn; Georgie (Bob) Von Dohre; Jack (Alyce, still living) Glenn; and his first wife, Jeanne (Young) Glenn. Dan is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Atkinson Glenn; together they travelled to visit family around the country and globe. Dan's battle with Parkinson's Disease was fought admirably; he "delayed the disease" with myriad activities, golf, travel, work outs, walking in parks: doing as much as he could as long as he could. When 80, he and his wife Elizabeth traveled around the world to celebrate their birthdays.
Dan began his career in retail sales in Cincinnati Ohio and later moved into the paper and food service industry with Diamond National. After moving to Florida, Dan joined Hoffmaster Company (becoming a part owner) which was later sold to Scott Worldwide Food Service. With Scott Paper, Dan's success in sales, marketing and motivational speaking earned him the position of Vice-President of International Sales and Marketing. With Scott Paper, Dan traveled the world, working with their many partner companies in Europe, Asia and South America. Dan retired from his last career as Owner and President of Realty Ohio in 2019.
Dan's success in motivating and inspiring a sales force is second only to his love of friends and family. Dan's friends from Holmes High School (Covington, KY), where he enjoyed sports (basketball, which earned him membership in the "C Club") and theater. However, Dan would say that the love and success of his family is his greatest achievement. Dan is survived by two sons, Douglas Glenn (Marion); Anthony Scott Glenn (Julie); stepson Andrew Laughlin (Jessica); seven grandchildren: Douglas' Ashley (Charles) Morehead; Daniel Scott Glenn; Scott's Chelsea Glenn, Trevor Glenn and Bailey (Joe) Holden); Drew's Thomas Laughlin and Atkinson Laughlin. Dan has five great grandchildren Daphne, Magnolia, and Charles Morehead, and Emerson and Eleanor Holden. Dan has further enjoyed long relationships with many nieces and nephews, who have gathered to remember family hiking trips in the Great Smoky Mountains, to watch the iconic launches from Cape Canaveral or to ski together on a favorite slope.
Perhaps Dan's most enjoyable achievement after family and business was building with wood, stone, and bricks to create porches, patios, walkways and decks and family cradles. His ability to design and create spaces for family and friends to relax and enjoy time together perhaps spawned his love of cooking and entertaining. One of his last conversations with his wife, Liz, and Hospice nurse, Amy,was to ask if the twin waterfalls were running by the lower deck, and then dictate three favorite recipes for family parties: chili, cheese puffs, and garlic cheese dip.
Life with Dan was an adventure; he created unforgettable memories.

Dan was a man deeply devoted to his Liz. His love for her was evident in everything he did, and it was a beautiful thing to witness. I had the privilege of meeting him during one of the most heartfelt missions of his life: finding the perfect violin for his beloved. His determination and passion were inspiring, a testament to the depth of his love. His passing leaves a void in the hearts of those who knew him. His memory will forever be intertwined with the image of a man searching for the perfect melody to express his love.
