Daniel J. Hicks

Daniel J. Hicks, a lifelong resident of Melrose, died unexpectedly on April 29, 2025, at the age of 39. Born in Stoneham, MA on December 3, 1985, to Joan (Mulcahy) and Alan Hicks; he was raised in Melrose and graduated from Melrose High School in 2005.
Daniel worked at Prince Pizza for 21 years, where he was known for his dedication and willingness to always lend a hand. He took great pride in his work and was a valued member of the Prince family. Dan was a huge sports fan; he loved rooting for his Boston teams and Alabama football. He was an easygoing, helpful person with a selfless attitude. Dan enjoyed going for long walks, spending time with his niece and nephew, and attending sporting events.
Daniel was the loving son of Alan and Joan (Mulcahy) Hicks, of Melrose. Caring brother of Jennifer Palmason & her husband Erik, of Wakefield, and Laura Hicks, of Melrose. Proud uncle of Olivia and Noah. Beloved grandson of Mary Hicks and the late John Hicks of Melrose, and the late William and Catherine Mulcahy of Melrose. He is also survived by and will be greatly missed by many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, coworkers and his good friend Jamie.
Visiting Hours will be held on Tuesday, May 6th, 2025, from 4:00-7:00pm at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St., Melrose. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday, May 7th, 2025, at Most Blessed Sacrament Church, 1155 Main St., Wakefield. Interment to follow the mass at Wyoming Cemetery, 205 Sylvan St., Melrose. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
