Daniel "DK" Edward Kennedy – dedicated husband, father of two, and friend of many passed away at home on December 12, 2022, at the age of 62 in Columbus, Ohio.
Dan was born to Jack and Kathryn Kennedy in Chicago, Illinois. He graduated from The Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and Marketing.
His first career opportunity took Dan to Indianapolis where he met the love of his life, Tracey Bradshaw Kennedy. Married in 1988, Dan and Tracey welcomed two sons together, Jack in 1990, and Sean in 1992.
Through the years, Dan loved family, cooking, being a father, and making friends wherever he went. Dan was a stranger to no one and found great joy in helping others young and old. He lived to share the successes, joys, and challenges of those around him. Dan was authentically and wholeheartedly there for those in his life.
Dan loved humor and was famous for his ability to tell jokes and funny stories. A longtime fan of the Indianapolis 500, Dan and his cohort of Indy 500 friends attended over 25 races together.
Dan was preceded in death by both of his parents and his brother-in laws Dean Hayden, and Neil Callen.
He is survived by his wife Tracey, son Jack, his wife Kate and son James Callahan and daughter Nora Marie, son Sean, his wife Paige, his sisters Martha Hayden, Kate Kennedy, Anne Kennedy, Jean Kennedy and her husband Ari Ferro, Nell Kennedy and her husband Harry Wagner, Tess Kennedy, Fran Kennedy and husband Bill Van De Weerd, Kelly and her husband Jamie Kane, Kat Austalosh and her husband Mike Austalosh, his brother John Kennedy and wife Michelle Henderson, his sister-in-law Susan Bradshaw Kitterman, his brother-in-law Henry Bradshaw, and his brother-in-law Joseph Kitterman and his wife Brenda Cooley.
A celebration of life will be held at Bethel International United Methodist Church, 1220 Bethel Road, Columbus, Ohio, 43220 on Saturday January 21 from 4PM to 7PM. Friends and family are invited to come and share fond memories, stories, and as many "DK" jokes as you can remember.
Contributions can be made to the James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute at Ohio State University or to Bethel International United Methodist Church.
