Daniel M. Largent, 69, of Brownstown, died at 10:45 a.m., Monday, April 7, 2025 at HSHS St. John's Hospital, Springfield.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, April 11, 2025 at Liberty Christian Church, rural Brownstown with Clayton Richison officiating. Burial will follow at Liberty Cemetery, rural Brownstown. Visitation will be held two hours prior to service time at the church beginning at 9:00 a.m. Memorials may be made to Liberty Christian Church or HSHS St. John's Foundation. Gieseking Funeral Home, Brownstown is assisting the family with arrangements.
Daniel was born in Florida on Tuesday, August 23, 1955 to Gilbert M. and Almeda M. (Mueller) Largent. He married Connie (Allen) Sweet on February 11, 1995 at the First United Methodist Church, Sherman, IL. He was an active member of Liberty Christian Church serving in various capacities including a board member and as the sound technician. He served on the board of the St. Elmo Golf Course where he enjoyed golfing during his retirement.
In addition to his wife of over 30 years, Connie Largent, Brownstown; he is survived by; father, Gilbert M. Largent, Rome, GA; stepson, Jeff (Angel) Sweet, Jacksonville; stepdaughter, Michelle Sweet, Champaign; brothers, Jeff (Vicki) Largent, Decatur and Kenne (Jan) Largent, Moultrie, GA; sister, Jana (Kent) Mathis, Rome, GA; 4 grandchildren, Autumn, Jasmine, Ethan, and Averie; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his mother.
