Daniel "Danny" Mitchell, III

1971 - 2025

Daniel "Danny" Mitchell, III was born on July 1, 1971, in New Orleans, Louisiana, to the late Daniel "Tweet" Mitchell, II and Ernestine R. Mitchell. Daniel was called home on Saturday, December 21, 2025, surrounded by his loving family, friends and loved ones.

He was educated in the New Orleans Parish School System. Danny was a hard-working man with many talents. He worked in construction, repaired automobiles and was widely known as a jack of all trades. He loved to talk, ride, laugh and joke and he never met a stranger. Danny had a generous heart and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He enjoyed Louisiana traditions-especially boiling seafood and "getting down on the grill." A true people person, Danny was known for his charm, strong work ethic, and love for life. Most importantly, he received Christ in 2000.

Daniel leave to cherish his memory his loving daughter, Danisha Roy; mother Ernestine Mitchell, two sisters Lawanda Mitchell and LaTasha Walker, one brother Louis (Dinez) Walker, Jr., four aunts Dr. Ethel Jones, Elaine Anderson, Melva (James) Brown and Laverne (David) Sanders, one uncle, Louis Boyd, Jr., four nieces, five nephews, two great nieces, five great nephews, two devoted friends, Mr. Maurice Mills and Craig Stewart, and a devoted caregiver, Richard Jones.

He was preceded in death by his father, Daniel "Tweet" Mitchell, II, his brother Aldridge "Bookie" Mitchell, two uncles, Otis Kenner, Sr. and Warren Johnson, his grandmothers, Rose Marcel Brown and Elizabeth Mitchell, his grandfather, Ernest Robinson and Daniel Mitchell, Sr., his aunt Shonda Brown Lee, and three cousins, Emonic Williams, Tajonisha Washington and Jermoul Dennis.

Relatives and friends of the family, Pastors, officers and members of Greater Good Hope Baptist Church and all neighboring Churches are invited to the Celebration of Life Services at 11:00am on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at Greater Good Hope Baptist Church, 47 Cathy Street, Norco, LA 70079. Visitation 9:00am until the time of service at the above-named Church. Interment Rising Star Pilgrim Rest Cemetery, 1103 Cardinal Street, Laplace, LA 70068. Final Arrangements entrusted to Patrick H.
