Daniel Jay Orders, age 70, passed away in Twin Falls, Idaho on August 1, 2024 due to multiple complications after surgery. He will be greatly missed.
Dan was born on May 10, 1954 at The Dalles, Oregon. He was raised in American Falls, Idaho where he graduated from high school. He left the family farm to attend the Automotive Technician Program at Idaho State University in Pocatello, Idaho. He graduated with an associate’s degree. Dan moved to Blackfoot, Idaho to work at 20th Century Ford where he met his first wife, Pam. They had two children, Stephanie Orders and Daniel Darwin Orders. Dan and Pam were later divorced.
On July 3, 1986, Dan met the love of his life, Christine. They were married on August 23,1986. They formed a good family with Chris’ son and daughter and Dan’s son and daughter. Dan adopted Chris’ son, David Rodriguez, and David considered Dan to be his dad.
In addition to being a loving and supportive husband, Dan was a great father and grandfather. He loved his family very much. He was a good friend to many people. Many friends of his oldest grandson, Kyle, called Dan “Grandpa”. He was kind and attentive to all.
Dan was multi-talented. He loved having projects to work on. He could solve almost any problem and was often creative in doing so. He was always willing to teach or mentor whoever needed a helping hand. He was selfless when it came to giving his time and helping others. Helping his grandsons learn to build with Legos gave him great joy.
Dan retired at age 62 so he and Chris could travel and spend more time together. They were full-time RVers for the past two years. They took several trips and were snowbirds. They traveled to St. George, Utah where they were able to spend time with family during the winter. In the summer, they would camp and spend time with family. Dan loved to golf with family and friends. He loved life.
Dan is survived by his cherished wife, Chris; his children, David Rodriguez (Dawnette), Stephanie Orders (David Harrington), Daniel Darwin Orders, and stepdaughter, Zenaida Nelson (Scott); grandchildren, Kyle Rodriguez, Sabre Rodriguez, Dallan Harrington, Shyla Orders, Daniel Roderick Orders, Kyrian Rodriguez, and Kalysia Rodriguez. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Rusell and Jeane Orders.
