Daniel Jay Polhamus was born in Ogdensburg, New York, a port town alongside the St Lawrence River, on June 10, 1951 to John and Gladys Polhamus. His few words and patient character were made clear through his deeds and work ethic.

Dan spent most of his childhood growing up in Springville, CA. He did his patriotic duty and joined the Army serving his country during the Vietnam War.

While working at Willamette falls hospital he met the love of his life and in 1982 married Charlene Fleming. They loved dancing, camping and raising their kids together. He treasured his time with family and friends, but would also find solace in fishing, hunting, and the outdoors. He lived as an example of hard work and unconditional love. His absence will leave behind a modeled life and many cherished memories.

Dan is survived by his loving wife, Charlene Polhamus; siblings, John Wesley Polhamus JR, Joan Brown, and Debbie Vangaasbeek; adoring children, Michelle (Jarrod) Pereira, Curtis (Emily) Dahl, Danielle (Jeffry) Redfield, and Wesley (Jori) Polhamus; grandchildren, Ashley (Tyler) McMullin, Jacob Dahl, Riley Redfield, Hannah Dahl, Andrew Dahl, Autumn Redfield, Payson Polhamus, Karley Redfield, Aubrey Polhamus, and Kylan Polhamus; and great grandchildren, Keegan McMullin, Kinsley McMullin, and Brinley McMullin.

Daniel is proceeded in death by his parents, John Wesley Sr and Gladys Polhamus; siblings, Fred Polhamus, George Polhamus, Marie Bennett, and Louise Cato; his son, Shane Polhamus; and grandson, Daniel James Polhamus.

The service will be held on October 17th, 2025 at 10 am at Simon-Cornwell Funeral Home. Following the service will be light snacks, refreshments and a time to share memories of Dan at Senior Estates Golf & Country Club in the Dining Hall. 1776 Country Club Rd.
