Jacqueline "Jackie" Edna Polhamus, a caring and loving woman, died on Monday, April 21, 2025. Jackie, 75, of Charlotte, was born on May 7, 1949, in Charlotte, the daughter of Edgar and Judith Ann (Rockafellow) Husted. She spent her entire working career as a CNA, working in different facilities, also as an in-home aid; until her retirement in 2009. Jackie happily married her husband Robert Earl Polhamus Jr and together created many special memories until his passing in 2019. She proudly served alongside her husband as a member of the DAV Auxiliary in Adrian. Hobbies that she enjoyed included sewing, crocheting, collecting antique Singer sewing machines, in her younger years riding and tending to the family horses, camping around the state, and most importantly her love for her cats. Many would refer to her as the "cat lady". Above she was proud of being a spouse of a veteran.
Jackie is survived by her son, Gerry (Sandi) Polhamus; son-in-law, Mike Barnes; grandchildren, Angel Polhamus, Angela Burgoff, Bruce, Blake, Kody, and Evan Anderson; 4 great-grandchildren; and her sisters, Beverley (Malvern) Kelly, and Mary Husted. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Robert; daughter, Tonya Barnes; infant son, Robbie Polhamus; and her parents.
Friends are encouraged to support Jackie's family by sharing memories on her Tribute Page at www.prayfuneral.com . If desired, the family suggests memorial contributions to the American Legion Post 42 or the DAV Chapter 8 - Capitol City. The family is in the care of Pray Funeral Home, Charlotte.
