Daniel Snapp Obituary

Passed away May 3, 2025, at the age of 82. Daniel was born in Mason, Michigan on April 28, 1943, the son of Warren and Druscilla (Meabon) Snapp. He dedicated over six decades of his life to the craft of gunsmithing, a trade that earned him respect and admiration from all who knew him. On June 17, 1960, Daniel married the love of his life, Virginia, and together they raised four children. He was a lifetime member of the Lion's Club in Mason. In his free time, Daniel enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Virgina Snapp of Onondaga; children, Kenneth (Jerroll Bont) Snapp of Knoxville, TN, Steven (Lisa) Snapp of Mason, Cynthia (Steve) Coy of Cedar Springs, Wendy (John) Briggs of Eaton Rapids; grandchildren, David Lennox, Erin Andrews (Brice), Kristen Snapp (Blaze), Jamie Austin (Barry), John Coy (Mallory), Kellie Coy, Stacy Parfett (Reese), Joe Coy, Katie Coy, Jesse Coy, Ethan Coy, Spencer Coy, Titus Coy, Hayley Briggs (Mike), Tiffany Brunner (Todd), Jacob Ireland (Emily), Clay Briggs (Kristyn), Keenan Briggs, Bethany Briggs (Thomas) and 22 great grandchildren; sister, Kay Soderberg; beloved dog Bailey. Daniel was preceded in death by his parents.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, May 10, 2025, at the Mills Funeral Home, Shelly-Odell Chapel. Visitation will be Friday, May 9, 2025, from 2-4pm and 6-8pm as well as one hour prior to the service on Saturday. For those desiring, memorial contributions may be made to the Ingham County Humane Society or Aurelius Baptist Church in loving memory of Daniel Fauntley Snapp. To leave condolences for the family, visit our website www.millsfuneral.com.

Danny was my mom's cousin. Growing up we saw them and had good times. I took care of his mom when she moved into the home I worked at. It was always good to see Danny and Virginia. My condolences to the family.

Mr Snap was an outstanding gunsmith and a fine human being.
I commented on the beautiful lilac bush in his yard. It had wine-red blooms. He pointed at a shovel and said "Take a sprout if you want. It won't cost me anything."
I now have several "sprouts" from the original in various places in my yard. Those bushes provided many flowers on Mother's Day over the years.
