Daniel R. Sprague, formerly of Greenwood, died April 3, 2025, at Traditions of Columbus. He was born on August 29, 1952, in Columbus to Albert and Mary Sprague. He was a 1971 graduate of Columbus High School.
Dan worked as an iron worker for 36 years. During that time, he helped build many high-rise buildings in Indianapolis and worked on parts of the Indianapolis Zoo. Dan spent 8 years working for Cardinal Contracting as a project manager, where he was responsible for moving machinery and equipment all over the country.
Dan was a very kind and generous man. He frequently bought hams from City Barbeque in Greenwood and shared them with friends and family. He would also buy large amounts of fresh produce from local markets to share. He had a great sense of humor and was a very proud American.
Dan is survived by his brothers, Marshall, Don, Charlie, and Tom; sisters, Judy Dallman and Wanda Vanest; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Cindy and a sister, Mary Lou Payne.
A gathering for family and friends will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Friday May 9, 2025 at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home. Dan will be laid to rest with his parents in Garland Brook Cemetery.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home. You are invited to share condolences and share a memory of Dan via the funeral home website: www.jewellrittman.com.
