Mr. James Christopher Anderson

James Christopher Erin Anderson, known affectionately as Erin to his friends and family, passed from this life at his residence in Columbus, Indiana, on August 27, 2025, at the age of 51. Born on Christmas Day in 1973 in Madison, Indiana, Erin's life was a testament to the joy and love he brought to those around him.

Erin was the loving son of the late Terry A. and Sandra Y. Humes Anderson, whose memory he cherished and honored throughout his life. He leaves behind a legacy of love and dedication in his children, Jaiden Elizabeth Anderson of Senoia, Georgia, and Jacob Cameron Eli Anderson of Decatur, Illinois. His life was further enriched by his beloved fiancée, Kelly Cox of Columbus, with whom he shared a deep and abiding partnership. Erin's half-sister, Kelly Roddie-Taylor of Indianapolis, along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family, will fondly remember him.

A proud graduate of Columbus North High School's class of 1992, Erin had a long-standing career in shipping and receiving, first with Smurfit-Stone and later with WestRock. His professional life was marked by a dedication to his work and the respect of his colleagues.

Erin's life was one of active engagement and community involvement. He was a respected member of the Golden Crown Masonic Lodge No. 34 and a member of the Second Baptist Church, where he found spiritual fulfillment and fellowship. His passion for the Madison Regatta and go-kart races was unmatched, and he could often be found trackside, cheering with enthusiasm.

Beyond his public commitments, Erin was a man who found joy in life's simple pleasures. He treasured the times spent camping with his family, where laughter and stories were shared around the campfire. A competitive spirit, he enjoyed the friendly rivalry of bowling and the thrill of roller skating, activities that brought him closer to friends and loved ones.

Funeral arrangements are pending. In memory of Erin, memorial contributions may be made to Lincoln Central Neighborhood Family Center or Second Baptist Church.
