SFC (Ret) Daniel Joe Stratton, age 72 of Hardinsburg, KY passed away August 20, 2025, at University of Louisville Hospital. He was born in Lima, Ohio on November 9, 1952, son of the late William Robert and Betty Lou Stratton. Daniel retired from the United States Army. He was a member of the Bucksnort Longhunters Club and NRA. Daniel was a collector of many things. He enjoyed watching baseball, especially the Cincinnati Reds. Daniel was very interested in military history, researching WWI and WWII. He was a very proud veteran and loved his country.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife April Stratton.

Daniel is survived by his son Ryan Stratton and his wife Katherine of Bellevue, NE

2 grandchildren: Dominic and Elizabeth Stratton.

1 stepson: Nick Knizewski of Hardinsburg, KY

4 brothers: William "Bill" Stratton of Elida, OH; John Stratton of Pandora, OH; Mark Stratton (Linda) of Alvada, OH and Jim Stratton of Findlay, OH.

Visitation will be held at Trent-Dowell Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, from 10 AM – 12 PM. Military honors will follow at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central in Radcliff, KY at 1:30 PM. All times are central.
