Floyd L. Smith, Sr. age 78, of Hardinsburg, Ky died on August 16, 2025 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. He was born in Breckinridge County on March 9, 1947 to the late Floyd Smith and Lois Greenwood. Floyd was retired from G.E. where he was a forklift operator. He was a Vietnam Veteran having served in the United States Navy. Floyd attended Cloverport Methodist Church and was known as "the green bean man" because he provided the best cooked green beans for any meals or services held at the church. He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, hunting and gardening.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Raphael Smith; his sister, Barbara Owens and his step-mother, Alice Ritchie and stepfather, Otis E. Voyles.

Floyd is survived by his wife, Marcella (Marcy) Allen Smith

Sons: Floyd Smith, Jr of Louisville, KY and Kristopher Maverick of Nashville, TN

Stepson- Clay Kinman (Hisako) of Las Vegas, NV

Stepdaughter - Angela Lewis of San Antonio, TX

Brothers: Jim Smith (Catherine) of Camby, IN, Otis Eugene Voyles (Delores) of Cloverport, KY, Timothy Voyles of Hardinsburg, KY

Sisters: Patricia Dulaney, Marie Bullock and Rita Coleman of Flaherty, KY

7 Grandchildren: Kat , Nik & Nadya Berggren, Victor Maverick, Sachi Lewis, Lillian & Lucas Kinman

3 Great-Grandchildren: Caspian, Hayden & Avalon Berggren

In keeping with his wishes, cremation was chosen by the family.

A memorial services will be held at 4:00 PM on Thursday, August 21, 2025 at Cloverport Methodist Church

Visitation will be from 12:00 - 4:00 PM

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Cloverport Methodist Church or Cloverport Cemetery.

The family asks that you join them for a meal after the service.
