DANIEL M. TULLOCK OBITUARY
The definition of a gentleman is "chivalrous, courteous, honorable" and is the best way to describe Daniel M. Tullock (aka Chip) who passed away on May 22, 2025 after a long, courageous battle with two types of bone marrow cancer (MDS & Myeloma.) He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend.
Dan was born on December 18, 1947, the son of Daniel A. and Evelyn M. Tullock. Throughout his life, Dan loved and was close to his siblings and their spouses: Pat and Gardner Hodgkin of West Haven, Judy and Dick Wilson of Delaware, Pam and the late Dennis Kelly of Kentucky & FL, Rick and Robin Tullock of New Hampshire. He shared lots of good times and many laughs with his best friends: brother-in-law Ken Bodwell of Wimauma, FL and Steve Fletcher of Enfield, CT.
After graduation from Northwest Catholic High School in West Hartford in 1965, Dan continued his education at Northeastern University in Boston. In 1969, Dan married the love of his life, his soulmate JoAnn Bodwell Tullock (Jo). Ready to begin his career as an Electrical Engineer in 1970, his life was interrupted by a "Greetings" letter from President Nixon and Dan went on to serve in the U.S. Army. It was toward the end of the Vietnam War; fortunately, Dan's education and skills were needed most in South Korea. Jo was able to join Dan in Korea where they experienced another culture, made friends, and adopted their first child, 9-week-old Christine Tullock (aka Tee) now of Sunderland, MA. Upon arrival back in the States, their life continued, along came their son David K. Tullock, and their first home in Enfield, CT. When burnout set in after 23 years of engineering, Dan followed his heart and his dream; he and son Dave started their own business, T-Square Builders, LLC, and the family moved to Somers, CT. After Dan's declining health issues and eventual retirement in 2020, Dave took over the entire business operation, which continues to thrive today under his expert leadership.
In addition to his wife, daughter and son, Dan leaves his daughter-in-law Stephanie Miller Tullock with whom he had a wonderful and very special bond, and the grandchildren he adored and was privileged to spend lots of time with: Ashley Tullock Scibelli and her husband Michael Scibelli, Gabrielle (Gabby) Tullock, Daniel (Danny) Tullock, and great-grandson Dawson Michael Scibelli.
A huge and heartfelt thank you goes out to the incredible staff at D'Amour Center for Cancer Care at Baystate Medical Center who treated Dan and Jo like family throughout the years-long journey with this horrible disease.
Dan requested no wake or funeral and a private burial at Hazardville Cemetery. The family simply asks that you do an act of kindness in his memory, hug your loved ones every chance you get and just be kind to all as he always was.

I so enjoyed times spent with my Uncle Chip, especially at Hawks Nest when I was growing up. A great guy and wonderful family member. My condolences to Joie, Chris, Dave and the rest of their family.
