Daniel Joseph Werlinger (Dan), age 77, passed away peacefully with his son, Jacob, and grandson, Lowell, by his side on Sunday, January 5, 2025. Dan truly valued education and a strong work ethic. He was a retired middle school science teacher and coach at Racine Unified School District. He was inducted into the staff Hall of Fame at Gilmore Middle School in Racine on February 7, 2015. Dan also worked a second job as a salesperson for Hometown Building selling three season and four season patio rooms to further support his own children's education and sports endeavors. Dan was an avid golfer, master of the Weber gas grill, and a sports fanatic. He especially loved the Green Bay Packers, the Milwaukee Bucks and Tiger Woods.
Dan was preceded in death by his wife, Francine Werlinger, and his parents, Joseph and Ruth Werlinger. He is survived by his son, Jacob (Amy) Werlinger; daughter, Melissa (Steve) Butler; Francine's children; sisters, Louise (Ray) Paris and Jean (John) Wilson; grandchildren: Lowell, Jack, Lauren and Charlotte; and many other close family and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate Dan's life will be held on Thursday, January 16, 2025, at St. Alphonsus Church (6060 W. Loomis Rd., Greendale,WI ) at 11:00 AM Friends and family may visit at the church from 9:30 AM until the 11:00 AM mass.
